Improve The Health And Wellbeing Of People In India

Population council institute

About
PCI

The Population Council Institute undertakes research to address urgent health and development issues. Through our research, we help design programs and policies aimed at reducing social and economic barriers faced by millions of Indians. We work closely with the government and the civil society to understand these barriers and offer evidence based solutions.

Population Council Institute aims to provide every Indian with an equitable access to public health, among other services. To this effect, our present research focusses on enhancing the evidence base to improve the state of sexual and reproductive health, and reduce the burden of malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and non-communicable diseases. Our work continues to develop and promote policy-relevant evidence to strengthen India’s health systems.

In a world with ever increasing vulnerability to environmental destruction, we recognize the pressing need for sustainability. As a result, we place sustainability at the core of all our health and development goals. We work towards strengthening the resilience of vulnerable populations to adapt to environmental shocks and stressors, including those related to the effects of climate change.
